5 Things I’m Replacing This Month – September

As usual on the last day of the month I am sharing with you 5 things that I am replacing this month. I am very strict on budgets and planning so no purchases outside of this list will be made for hair or beauty products. I have had lots of questions about budgeting and planning so I think I will dedicate a separate post to that. Have a read of my list and get thinking about what you might replace yourself this month… it stops the impulse shopping and I find I actually save when I plan purchases!! I’ve linked the products using affiliate links, I always search for the best deals, you can click the pictures to go directly to the site – REMEMBER SHOP IN STERLING.

OK, Let me get right into it;

Dry Shampoo – As you know I don’t wash my hair at home. I go to a salon and get it blow dried once a week I call it my #7DayBlowDry you can read my blog post here about it. I am always harping on about it!! A huge part of the #7DayBlowDry is dry shampoo. I have no idea how we lived without it for so long. I’ve been around the block with Dry Shampoos and I’ve tried some at different price points. I’ll be really honest I find the cheaper one that is sold in supermarkets and some chemists – RUINS my hair… it blocks my scalp and it can look so white in my hair like talc! The dry shampoo I am replacing this month is the Wella Dry Me Dry shampoo. It’s honestly excellent. It smells really good. It’s not chalky or heavy in the hair. It freshens the hair without residue. I don’t get an itchy scalp. I’ve been doing some research and I actually didn’t know this but we can’t buy this from English sites as its an aerosol!! If you can’t find this in your local salon – I know House of Colour. If you are addicted to online shopping like me you can get it here by using parcel motel (not sure how we lived without this either!). Remember shop in sterling and check out what deals are on the day of purchase to save!!

Kevin Murphy, Blonde Angel – If you are not blonde you will zone out now… I won’t get into this too much because I am going to be chatting about my current hair regime really soon. I needed to give up purple shampoo for about 12 weeks but my hairdresser has advised that I start to implement it in again to keep my colour fresh!! She uses the product on me in the salon – it smells so good – Lavender (like how relaxing), It’s not too heavy BUT I really wouldn’t use it every wash because it can cause build up and dull your colour (well my hair anyway). They sell this product in lots of Salons in Dublin. If you are unsure try the small one for 8 euro – I really think you will love it. Tip – try it in dry hair and leave it in for 10 min!!

Face Tan – If you follow me you will know I cannot live without face tan. I really think there is nothing better than a fresh looking glow on your face. I gave up the sun forever this year but I gave up tanning my face about a year before my wedding when I was starting to see the effects of sun abuse on my skin! I wear SPF every single day. In order to avoid looking like casper I tan my face 2 sometimes 3 times a week. I’ve been using these drops for the longest time and I completely swear by them. They are a great price and if face tanning is new to you – this is a great brand to start with. They are so easy to use and can be mixed with your own skincare so you don’t even skip an important step to put these on!! I used these 2 nights before my wedding – that’s how much I trust them.

DON DON DON… Thats dramatic music for my next point… I’ve been saying for the longest time I want to try the Tan Luxe drops. They are a little more expensive and I feel like I am cheating on something I already know works really well… but I suppose I’ve heard so many people talking about these drops and I need to replace my others it’s time. I am very price sensitive as you know so I spotted you can pick up a mini size to try for under 20 euro. If anyone wants to try these with me – try the mini version!!

Concealer – The tired girls very best friend!! I’ve tried lots of concealers and I am very happy with my day and night concealer options so much so I replace them time and time again. You’ll be delighted to know that my day time concealer is very budget friendly – it’s under 10 euro and honestly I think it works like a way more expensive brand! If you are on the market for a new concealer I would most definitely recommend you try this brand. I use the shade light.

Because I mentioned this is only my day time concealer to anticipate any questions I will share that my currently night time concealer is the Kevyn Aucoin, The Sensual Skin Enhancer in shade 6. Its expensive but my god its good!!! I really recommend you get professionally match before buying this product its expensive but it lasts a really long time. I feel like a million dollars when I wear this.

Eye Liner – There is something about eyeliner that completes a look. I am not a huge eye makeup person – I generally wear the same makeup all the time – day and night. Usually I pop a bit of eye liner on and smoke it out for the evening. I find black on me super harsh so I always go for a dark brown. I just think it’s so much softer and complements my skin colour. I’m all for saving but you can’t beat a good quality eye pencil. I just find some of the cheaper brands don’t do it for me. I am sure you saw how much I loved my MAC Teddy pencil when I showed it on stories ( it was tiny haha ). I am replacing that this month and I can’t wait for a fresh one.

Let me know what you guys are replacing. Happy shopping xox

    Hey Denise, quick one for you!! I’ve started taking biotin after seeing it in your post last month and am already seeing the difference in my nails, not in my hair yet though!!! Using the dream filter too, but wanted to ask…. how many uses do you get out of a bottle, or how much do you saturate your hair with it? I have a thick head of hair, and it says to saturate the hair, I literally got only 6 uses out of the full bottle!! Wondering if I am spraying on too much!!
